This weekend John, Brock, and Daddy went to a Webelos camp, so I decided it would be fun to have a fall party for my Camp Fire USA kids here at home. I am happy to say that it was a big success–but, boy, am I tired!
Last evening, we went to a park and then went to our favorite pizza place for supper. Luke was hillarious–he ate over half of the pizza by himself! Then we came home, watched a movie, and tried “camping” in the living room. The kids got tired of the floor, so after struggling for over an hour trying to get to sleep, they all agreed it was time to go to bed!
This morning we did some fall crafts, played some games related to the season, talked about leaves, and made bird feeders.
After lunch, we made some yummy pumpkin cookies, did a scavenger hunt, went on a fall walk, played more fall games, and did probably the strangest activity of our party: pumpkin hammering. The kids used a toy hammer to pound golf tees into a pumpkin. Believe it or not, they all agreed that this was their favorite part of the whole weekend!
So, it has been a busy, but fun weekend. I will post the recipe for the pumpkin cookies in a future entry–they really are very yummy!
I am looking forward to the big boys getting home from their camping trip. Unfortunately, John’s camera is broken, so we won’t have any pictures.
