Boy, are we in the thick of “Paint Your Wagon” preparation! We are having lots of rehearsals, and the Prairie Family is having a blast! The cast for this show is great, and they are really making this a good experience for the kids.
I’m pretty pleased with how the rehearsals are going. In some shows I have been involved with, we have pretty much scrambled to get the show ready. We’re right on track for this one, though, and are running whole acts with still 2 1/2 weeks to go before the show. The lines are coming, and it won’t be long until the scripts will be gone too.
There are many funny moments in the show. The picture for this entry was taken while rehearsing a scene where Brock’s character is on trial for stealing gold. The trial has a surprise ending–it was even a surprise to us (not what was in the original play!), so I won’t spoil the surprise for those who will be coming! 🙂
By the way, for those who live near us on the Prairie, tickets are now available for both performances on April 18 and 20. The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children/students, and they can be bought at the college book store. (Or if it would be more convenient for you, just let us know and we can pick up tickets for you.) It will be a good show, full of humor and singing. We’d love to have you join us!
